Electrical Engineer

Our client in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product design for manufacturing, along with hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing products for the market.

The base salary for the role is in the region of $140k - $180k. Our client offers healthcare and 401k. Due to the nature of our clients work, the successful candidate must be a US citizen or Green Card holder.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design multi-layer PCBs using Altium, with a focus on digital boards.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams on rigid-flex PCB designs to ensure functionality across all boards.
• Engage in the full product lifecycle, applying design-for-manufacture principles.
• Work with low-level power and battery systems.
• Develop and implement firmware for microcontrollers, with programming in C and Python.
• Perform soldering and assembly tasks as needed.
• Prototype, build, test, and refine systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate across functions to integrate electrical, firmware, and mechanical components into cohesive, high-performing products.
• Drive product development and resolve technical challenges.
• Develop and execute validation test plans to ensure products meet performance and quality standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis for product issues and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in shipping products to market, particularly those involving electrical systems such as smart devices, drones, cameras, or similar technologies.
• 3-5 years of experience guiding a product from initial concept through market launch.
• Hands-on involvement in hardware development and product creation.
• Experience in RF, GPS, video, antenna design, working with test fixtures, sensors, and weight optimization is a plus.
