Electrical Engineer
Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with at least 5 years experience to work in our Controls system group. You will be part of a team that will focus on electrical work for HVAC / Furnace control systems. Responsibilities may include creating circuitry for control boxes, circuit board testing, motor tests and functional testing on all electrical components including Motors, Contactors, Capacitors, Control Boards, Thermistors, and Electric Heats used in HVAC systems, including outdoor condensers, heat pumps, indoor air handlers, and furnaces for both Residential and Commercial products.
To be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years experience in electrical design and/or controls.

Responsibilities may include:
- The design and selection of Electrical Components for our Residential and Commercial products.
- Designs and Selects Electronic Control Components and Resolves Electronic Control problems in all Daikin HVAC products, including outdoor air conditioners & heat pumps and indoor air handlers & furnaces in both communicating and non-communicating products.
- Resolve Electrical problems in all HVAC products, including outdoor condensers & heat pumps and indoor air handlers & furnaces for both Residential & Commercial products
- Design electrical wiring for all HVAC applications and building prototypes.
- Support design engineers with testing.
- Works with the factories to ensure that new production control boards are acceptable to the Goodman manufacturing operations in terms of first article inspection (FAI), Production Line Assembly, Production Run Testers, Shipping Tests, Product Specifications, Marketing Brochures, and others.
- Develops & Enhances Control Specifications for HP Defrost, Furnace Control, Communication Systems, and other HVAC units using available data & resources, DFEMA, PFEMA, and DMAIC.
- Defines Control Strategies for Daikin Furnaces, Air Handlers, Air Conditioners, Heat Pumps, Packaged Light Commercial units.
Experience:
- At least 5 years' experience in electrical design and/or controls.
- Familiar with NEC/UL standards for US and Canada.
- Good knowledge in the safety standards such as UL1995 and IEC60335.
- Good knowledge in Wiring Diagrams and Serial Plate.
- Prior knowledge and understanding of fundamental principles of Electronic Control Components & Electronic Control Issues in the HVAC outdoor & indoor applications preferred but not required.
Education:
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
