We are looking for an Engineering Manager, Electrical and Automation to join the team! This is a full-time, direct hire position that is 100% on-site in a manufacturing facility in Omaha, Nebraska.
Description:
- Play a key role in achieving strategic objectives, and in developing innovative products focused on shaping the future of industrial mobility. Aid in the development of new core competencies within the engineering department.
- Coach, develop, and lead a group of electrical engineers, automation engineers, and application engineers to support the larger engineering team to complete design, verification, validation and release-to-production activities.
- Assure timely completion of Controls and Automation design tasks in support of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), with specific attention to revenue-generating requests.
- Review and approve ECOs, design packages, bills of materials, firmware/software, math data, and other technical documentation.
- Provide leadership and know-how to the Controls and Automation team, support system design analysis, circuit analysis, software code reviews, and associated validation activities.
- Support research and development activities; create appropriate designs of experiments and provide feedback to product management to guide development.
- Review design risk assessment, verification, and validation activities as required to assure products and provided solutions will meet customer’s technical and contractual requirements.
- Design and validate embedded hardware systems, schematics, and PCB assemblies; Develop and validate embedded software in C.
- Program microcontrollers and PLCs to process I/O signals and assure robust error-free communications.
- Review Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and provide support to address root cause and close issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3 – 7 years’ experience managing and leading technical staff; engineering manager, supervisor, or other technical team lead.
- Experience with UL, IEC, FCC, and similar standards for electrical system design and regulatory compliance.
- Substantial knowledge of embedded system design, firmware and software code creation, review, and control.
- Experience with EPLAN Electric P8, Altium Designer, and Embedded Software development in C.
- Knowledge of programable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and Industrial Ethernet communication protocols is desirable.
Details:
- This is a full-time, direct hire position that is 100% on-site in Omaha, Nebraska.
- Must be willing and able to travel to Iowa site, as needed.
- Salary: $110-120K + Bonus
- This is a W-2 position; No C2C/B2C; no sponsorship.
