Job Description
City of Bowie police officers are charged with maintaining order, protecting life and property, and upholding the laws of the State of Maryland and the ordinances of the City of Bowie.
Must work independently; perform regularly assigned duties under General Orders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
21 years or older upon graduation from the Academy;
High school diploma or GED equivalent;
U.S. citizen;
Valid Maryland Driver's license;
Must pass physical agility test, written exam, background check, and drug screening.

RATE: $28.37 per hour ($59,019.74 annually)

Base Incentive $3,000
Associate Degree $1,000
Bachelor’s Degree $2,000
Sworn Lateral Experience $1,000 for each year up to 3 years.
