Environmental Partner

Join our clients’ nationally recognised team as an Environmental Partner based in their Costa Mesa office. The firm offers a sophisticated federal practice complemented by an in-depth understanding of complex state and local environmental issues. They pride themselves on being a one-stop shop for their clients, providing comprehensive environmental legal services across a wide range of areas.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert compliance counselling to clients across various environmental laws and regulations.
• Advise clients on emerging contaminants, product stewardship, and chemical regulation.
• Oversee legacy site management, project management, and contract disputes.
• Conduct EHS due diligence, manage environmental insurance issues, and guide transactions.
• Counsel clients on sustainability, climate change, and ESG initiatives.
• Navigate and manage NEPA processes and natural resources law compliance.
• Handle natural resource damages, OSHA, and workplace safety matters.
• Defend clients in civil, criminal, and administrative enforcement actions.
• Advise on carbon capture, sequestration, and emergency spill response.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Extensive experience in environmental law, particularly in litigation and regulatory compliance.
• Proven track record in managing complex environmental cases and securing permits.
• Strong understanding of federal and state environmental statutes, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and CERCLA.
• Experience with emerging environmental issues such as EtO emissions and PFAS remediation.
