We are hiring an Environmental & Regulatory Advisor to provide direct environmental, regulatory, and socioeconomic (ER&S) support and guidance to ERM’s client in Houston, TX. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), limited-term role for the duration of 12 months, renewable.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementation of Project Environmental Standards on existing and potential upcoming LCS Projects.
  • Engagement with project team regarding project activities with potential environmental, social, and health impacts.
  • Management of work scopes with environmental and socioeconomic contractors.
  • Supporting analysis and identification of potential issues that could be mitigated by early detection and development of improvement opportunities.
  • Support with government funding opportunities.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in engineering, environmental studies, environmental management, wetland science, planning, geography, or related natural resources science field of study.
  • At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in environmental/regulatory complex capital development projects, such as natural gas pipeline systems, liquefied natural gas facilities, or other petrochemical facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and prepare concise and accurate technical documents including presentation of findings to clients, stakeholders, and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local permitting for development projects.
  • Experience overseeing and coordinating desktop and online studies or research on natural resource or resource planning topics, Geographic Information System, map interpretation (National Wetland Inventory, U.S. Geological Survey, aerial photography).
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a good rapport with project team members, excellent people skills, responsive, collaborative, versatile, effective in a fast-paced environment, and service-oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
