Position Summary


The Environmental Specialist will support the corporate and local operating teams' environmental efforts, focusing on environmental initiatives, emissions reduction and inventory, and reporting. This position will report to the Environmental Manager and will be based on-site in the Irving, TX office, with some travel required to our field offices.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage company engine compliance program within state and federal regulations
  • Manage engine inventory and emissions tracking database within Validere Carbon Hub
  • Ensure engine field compliance within OGI Leak Survey and Repair Programs including OOOOa/b/c, fixed wing flyovers, AVOs, etc as related to current and upcoming emissions regulations
  • Develop and lead engine emissions reduction programs
  • Develop relationship with Javelin field staff, compressor engine vendors, testing companies, and consultants to ensure compliance
  • Develop and lead control device/flare compliance program focusing on EPA Subpart W and OOOOa/b/c regulations
  • Lead environmental initiatives and participate in deploying programs on critical environmental matters that align with Client ESG efforts including OGMP
  • Facilitate and lead environmental compliance database data quality improvements and business process flow standardization
  • Conduct field inspections focusing on equipment inventory and management of change


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental, Applied Sciences, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 7+ years of experience in Oil and Gas industry focusing on regulatory and environmental compliance, engines and facilities, and background in reporting, environmental permitting, consulting, and compliance
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record to drive Company and personal vehicles to perform required tasks


Must possess a working understanding of the following environmental principles and concepts:

  • Engine rules (JJJJ/ZZZZ)
  • Emissions inventorying and reporting
  • Air regulations including permitting, OOOO/OOOOa/OOOOb, flares, and nonattainment
  • Professional regulatory or environmental, health and safety (EHS) experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Oil and gas industry air, water, and waste permitting and compliance experience, preferred in the states of Utah and Texas
  • EHS regulatory requirements and ability to research them
  • Environmental regulations applicable to the pipeline industry, including releases, air, water, waste, etc.
