Executive Business Consultant


We are experiencing unprecedented growth and seeking an Executive Business Consultant remotely or in our Greenbelt, Maryland, headquarters.


The successful candidate must have proven experience as a marketing consultant or a similar role, preferably within the ISP industry, possessing the most vital analytical and communications skills. Working with our client’s C-Suite and Boards, the successful candidate will be charged with providing key insight and analysis necessary to help current broadband providers and new market entrants stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market by effectively reaching and engaging their target audience. The consultant would need to be up to date with the latest trends in the ISP industry and be able to apply this knowledge to create successful marketing strategies. Demonstrated professional experience performing in a lead marketing role supporting operators in a highly competitive broadband market is required.


Key Responsibilities


Client Leadership and Consulting Services Delivery

  • Provide strategic and analytical assessments of the client’s business opportunities and operations, develop and assess marketing strategies, and evaluate execution tactics.
  • Synthesize trends with market-specific competitive and operational considerations to formulate strategic and financial goals and tactics to achieve those goals.
  • Lead and facilitate client C-level team members to analyze, socialize/vet, and assist in pursuing key initiatives.
  • Continually examine marketing trends in the industry, assess the resulting implications for client operations and standing, and recommend best practices and optimization tactics/initiatives for implementation.


Business Development


  • Develop marketing consulting services business with new and existing clients, including developing service proposals.
  • Develop new and existing client relationships by building and maintaining trusted relationships based on thought leadership and high-quality service delivery.
  • Attend and speak at industry events, credentialing JSI as a strategic thought leader in rural broadband industry marketing strategies, trends, and issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant marketing service providers and develop partnership opportunities, where possible.


Qualifications


  • Undergraduate degree with ten (10) years of relevant marketing experience in the Communications / Broadband field. MBA is a plus.
  • Must possess demonstrated experience in the development and oversight, development, and execution of multi-faceted marketing strategies, plans, and budgets.
  • Prior experience in a consulting services role, demonstrating a track record of success in developing client relationships, consultative sales, and service engagement delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including interacting with C-Level / Board of Director stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in the ISP industry, data analysis, market research, and marketing platforms/technology with an understanding of marketing principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead clients, teams, and complex initiatives.
  • Five (5) years of experience managing people with a proven track record of motivating staff to achieve departmental growth and budgetary objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and self-sufficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated to hit budgetary targets, develop new service areas of expertise and growth, and pivot when necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills, including multitasking, managing competing priorities and deadlines, completing administrative tasks timely, and working in a fast-paced environment. Also, a client-service attitude.
