Experienced Head of People and Development for a Luxury Firm

Permanent Salary Guide: £55,000 – £65,000

A luxury firm who designs lives through technology for clients who are immensely private is looking for a Head of People and Development. The office is based in Kent.

This is a leadership role and the successful candidate will shape and drive the company’s HR strategy and operations. Your mission will be to foster an environment that prioritises health, wellbeing, and personal growth. You will ensure compliance with P&D regulations across Europe, navigate the complexities of global mobility, and uphold their commitment to GDPR, health and safety, quality, and environmental standards.

About This Head Of People And Development Role

  • Develop and implement wellbeing initiatives to enhance company culture, staff retention and overall Mentorship: Assist managers in their roles, providing support with recruitment, onboarding, reviews, performance management, training, and career growth.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant employment laws, regulations, and HR policies, including those in Germany, The Netherlands, and Monaco.
  • Global Mobility: Lead global mobility efforts, working with our Global Mobility Coordinator to support employees working in the EU and worldwide.
  • Payroll: Oversee payroll operations, including shadow payroll, ensuring legal compliance and addressing tax implications in the UK.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the People and Development team.
  • Communication: Oversee internal communications to keep the company well-informed.
  • Health, Safety, Quality & Environment: Oversee these functions, collaborating with our Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Manager to ensure a safe, sustainable, and high-quality working environment.
  • GDPR: Ensure GDPR compliance, prioritising data protection and privacy across all HR functions.

About You

  • Proven experience in HR leadership roles, focusing on health, wellbeing, compliance, and development.
  • In-depth knowledge of P&D regulations and a solid understanding of employment law.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for supporting and empowering employees.
  • Ability to navigate complex challenges with empathy, integrity, and resourcefulness.
  • Minimum CIPD Level 5 or equivalent degree qualification.
  • Experience managing a small team.
  • Knowledge of P&D regulations in Europe (France, Germany & The Netherlands), GDPR, and global mobility practices.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental considerations.
  • Experience with ISO19001 and ISO14001 certification.
