Family Preservation Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Be a part of a culture that values professionalism, warmth, and engagement. Interact with fellow staff, consumers, and community partners to uphold these values.
- Provide services that respect the diverse backgrounds of each family.
- Ensure families receive weekly visits, with increased intensity when needed for safety or identified needs.
- Advocate for families with schools and agencies, assist in accessing resources, and arrange follow-up services as needed.
- Complete intake documentation and progress notes promptly, ensuring timely discharges.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide necessary services.
- Coordinate services with other providers to maintain positive relationships in the community.
- Teach and model skills from the SafeCare Models to support parents in various areas.
- Undergo training and maintain certification in SafeCare Models, attending required meetings and trainings.
- Work a flexible 40-hour full-time schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate families' availability.
- Utilize Outlook calendar to submit weekly schedules, attend required meetings, and always maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field OR two years of experience in human services.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Flexible and efficient.
- Proficient in MS Word and intermediate computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to move freely within facilities.
- Casual professional dress.
- Report any confirmed record of child abuse as an adult to NorthCare.
- Reliable transportation and in-state travel required.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
- Carry a cell phone, respond to calls within 60 minutes, and check emails daily.
- Obtain CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certifications within 30 days if not already certified.
