Field Application Engineer

SUMMARY

The Field Application Engineer for the Wired Communications Business Unit is responsible for all product and market development and business penetration strategies in the Americas Region to achieve desired overall BU growth and profitability goals. This role is also responsible for developing silicon partnerships, Marketing Communication campaigns (social media and promotions), and to provide specialized FAE support directly to customers and the SBG teams (direct and channel partners). Penetration strategies requires complete business plans consisting of technical (new technology & product), commercial (pricing & ROI), and promotional (target customers & promotional materials and campaigns) strategies.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Technical background and MBA highly valued.

EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years’ experience in managing all aspects of marketing and driving of growth in existing products and markets, as well as a proven record for developing new market penetration strategies. Promotional experience required in Marcom (website, social media campaigns etc.). Magnetics component experience in Datacom, Telecom and Automotive markets required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Americas regional experience with a focus on sales and market growth. Extensively familiar with marketing and industry concepts and practices.


SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES

  • Generate sales revenue by developing products aligned with the target market.
  • Conduct research into new worldwide market opportunities through data gathering and analysis.
  • Investigate opportunities with current technology.
  • Provide technical support on strategic issues to sales, customer service and engineering, and assist in product training seminars and product presentations.
  • Coordinate strategic marketing plans, application notes, press releases and advertisements.
  • Maintain strategic pricing schedules and quote information consistent with market demands.
  • Ensure marketing programs and product development projects are not duplicated internationally and that proper resources are available to meeting long term sales and growth goals.
  • Target specific qualified companies for presentation of Pulse’s products and technologies.
  • Support the sales organization by providing data sheets, product samples and supplying technical and contractual help.
  • Monitor and report on product applications and launch for business unit focusing on market and meeting cost targets.
  • Determine a strategy for marketing products by monitoring industry drivers and technologies.
  • Characterize the customer base within the marketplace by analyzing their products and technical positions.
  • Determine the best utilization of product line resources by assessing the potential business available from each opportunity.
  • Set up and maintain a library of competitive data by attending industry committee meetings, industrial shows, reading trade journals and obtaining competitive literature and samples.
  • Develop the sales and marketing team by participating in the selection of qualified candidates


The anticipated salary range for this position is $100k.
