Field Engineer

Field Engineer provides professional engineering services on projects and acts as client’s representative in the field interacting with craft/superintendent, contractor and other external parties.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists in maintaining project schedule by monitoring project progress (field work, cost and schedule); coordinating activities; resolving problems.
• Controls project by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
• Demonstrate knowledge in engineering principals, practice, and methods and the application to the contract
• Monitors the construction work and site to ensure compliance with applicable plans, specifications, standards, codes, regulations and requirements.
• Assists in monitoring work and site for compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Provide technical, full-time, on-site inspection of the progress and quality of the work performed.
• Reviews and provides input into field related submittals as required.
• Monitors resolution of quality related issues.
• Monitors receipt inspection of materials arriving on-site.
• Conducts surveillances and inspection of the work, monitors the implementation of the QCP, and coordinates field sampling and testing for verification of quality results as needed.
• Prepares daily reports
• Assists in preparing quality assurance records including NCRs.
• Assists in the preparation of punch-list and outstanding work items related to Substantial and Final Completion of the work.
• Assists in tracking manhours and labor force utilization for budget
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the Project Manager or Project Engineer.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• Heavy Civil construction and field experience.
• AutoCAD skills
• Experience in scheduling, procurement, material take offs, inventories, and cost estimates.
