Your Purpose: As the Financial Controller, you will be serving as the subject matter expert for financial accounting and supporting the CFO with planning, management and governance of financial operations, including treasury and tax compliance. As the Controller, you will be responsible for completing the implementation of the Netsuite system and migration out of Quick Books. As a key business partner, you will collaborate across the organization to improve processes and financial performance, while leading a team and driving operational efficiency. This position will also be responsible for timely and accurate reporting of the financial statements; implementation and maintenance of internal control procedures in accordance with the practices and guidance provided by US GAAP and local legal & regulatory requirements; and serve as the primary contact with financial auditors.


To nail your job you will:

  • Deliver efficient and quality financial operation
  • Manage financial accounting processes, timely period close and reporting, and ensure proper recognition of revenue, costs, assets and liabilities in accordance with US GAAP and local regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise financial operations like A/R, A/P, capitalization of fixed Assets, and other general accounting tasks performed by the junior team members. Ensure financial transactions are in compliance with the documented standard processes, and teams have the required competencies, tools and training to adhere to the guidance.
  • Provide technical leadership to the accounting team to meet or exceed business expectations by fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Ensure good governance and create a culture of continuous improvement
  • Role model for ethics, integrity and trust in all areas of the business ensuring identification of and appropriate responses to governance and controls matter with a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Create and manage a secure internal control environment, including appropriate segregation of duties, access controls, adequate back-up documentation, timely review and reconciliations. This includes, but not limited to, analyses of all general ledger accounts, manual journal entries and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Responsible for quarterly review of the balance sheet accounts.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits and ensure timely resolution of all findings and comments.
  • Collaborate with Supply chain and coordinate timely inventory counts and accuracy of the inventory in the NetSuite.
  • Manage and ensure applicable tax filing processes including corporate income tax, sales & use tax, property taxes and local taxes etc done by internal team and third party service providers on time and with quality documentation.
  • Seamless transition of financial operation from Quickbooks to NetSuite ERP
  • Collaborate with the ERP implementation team and manage the last leg of Netsuite financial module implementation and optimization, ensuring a smooth transition of all financial operations from QuickBook.
  • Provide functional expertise of various accounting systems to resolve any issues by working closely with tech team or third party solution providers and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and systems.
  • Support and manage omni-channel financial operations, including e-commerce, retail, and wholesale channels.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner, providing financial insights and advice to leadership and key stakeholders.


We'll love you because:

  • You have CPA certification with 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience leading up to serving as Controller for 3+ years in the e-commerce industry.
  • You have demonstrable functional expertise in QuickBooks and NetSuite. Financial modeling using advanced google sheet functions including pivot tables, financial and statistical functions.
  • You possess strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to decipher large amounts of data to derive insights and recommendation.
  • You have a solid understanding of the relationship between different costs and cost drivers and ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver cost reduction programs.
  • You can demonstrate good understanding of financial interrelationships between marketing/sales strategies, pricing, volumes, and cost structure etc. ultimately the mastery of the P&L shaping.
  • You are experienced at planning & managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • You have a high degree of self-direction with the ability to perform tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • You are great at proactive communication, high energy, results-oriented, and willing to drive change.
  • You are able to meet deadlines under time constraints and with attention to details.
  • You are very comfortable working in a lean start-up organization and flexible to work outside of normal business hours occasionally (i.e. Period close)
  • You possess the ability to articulate your thoughts, explain the reasoning, and present recommendations in a clear manner— in a document and in person.
