Forensic Mechanical Engineer you will play a critical role in investigating mechanical system failures remotely, with travel to project sites within the Central US. Your expertise will be vital in identifying causes of mechanical failures and providing thorough analyses.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect Loss Sites: Examine and document mechanical system failures on-site
Data Collection: Gather and analyze data at loss locations
Code Consultation: Review and apply relevant codes, standards, and regulations
Evidence Documentation: Record evidence and findings from investigations
Photography: Capture images of damages and evidence related to fires, explosions, and other losses
Testing and Analysis: Conduct tests and data acquisition in the field and laboratories
Failure Analysis: Perform detailed system failure analyses
Report Writing: Research and compose expert reports on findings
Witness Interviews: Interview witnesses, property owners, and building occupants
Court Testimony: Provide expert testimony in court cases related to investigated losses
Travel: Travel to various project sites as necessary

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Professional Registration: Professional Engineering Registration
Experience: 4-6 years of relevant fire loss investigative experience preferred
Located in the Central U.S. or open to relocation there
Willing for heavy travel
