General Maintenance

The General Maintenance employee will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other business systems. He or she will inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair, troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs, and plans repair work using building' s blueprints or equipment manual as needed. The General Maintenance worker performs general repair that do not require a specialized technician: examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. He or she performs routine building maintenance on building systems, cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities, orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance, and performs other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate has excellent organizational and time management skills. He or she has the ability to follow instructions from supervisors and knowledge of general carpentry and repair. The candidate has the ability to use hand tools and power tools, ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl in awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. He or she has a high school diploma or equivalent. Related experience is preferred.
