About the role
The role of Head of Strategic Initiatives is instrumental in shaping Unlock's future and driving its success. This leader will play a crucial role in the organization's strategic planning an execution, responsible for identifying and implementing innovative approaches to achieve Unlock's strategic goals. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, market trends and competitive landscape, and will work closely with the executive team to drive growth, increase operational efficiency and foster a culture of innovation within the organization.

What we're looking for
Regularly conduct strategic reviews of consumer finance products and partnerships that could be synergistic with our core Home Equity Agreement product
Evaluate high-level strategic decisions like build vs. buy vs. partner and be able to distill down your findings.
Facilitate ongoing status reporting and ensure ongoing alignment on top priorities with Unlock's Executive Team
Establish the regulatory and licensing framework (in conjunction with Legal team) to facilitate the new business
Lead business development and onboarding for joint ventures and partnerships with new businesses
Manage the budget and P&L of all new businesses
Minimum Requirements
8+ years of experience in startups, strategy, consulting, business development, operations, banking, or related experience
Successful track record of bringing new businesses to market
Proven track record of building and innovating a highly regulated financial services environment, e.g., consumer lending, debt relief/settlement, mortgage, and/or residential real estate
Strong and accurate analytical sense and ability to communicate effectively
PC skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft environment and the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in a meaningful way.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Must have experience in residential equity release products for (e.g. cashout refinance, HELOC, sale leaseback)
Experience with setting up and maintaining mortgage licensing
Proficiency making buy/build/partner decisions for launching new businesses (e.g. wholesale vs. white label vs. de-novo)
