About the role:


  • This position reports directly to the Head of FP&A for the Fashion & WFJ division and will have one direct report
  • This role will support the strategic business and financial objectives of the WFJ division for the U.S. region
  • Lead and manage the financial planning processes for the WFJ Division
  • Ensure coordination with Corporate Finance Teams in meeting reporting scope
  • Provide overall financial support to WFJ Senior Management related to:
  • Lead, analyze, and manage Sales & profit targets
  • Report on expense management in partnership with the business
  • Provide analysis and decision making support (new distribution, ROI analysis) for the business
  • Lead the analysis and oversight of Inventory management / months of coverage / Financial reserves
  • Mid-term (MTP) sales & profit planning
  • Build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and business partners such as the WFJ GM and leadership team and other relevant leaders in the organization


What impact you can create at CHANEL:


  • Manage the preparation of all Chanel, Inc. WFJ financial planning reports (P&Ls, Forecast variance analysis, Inventory reporting), inclusive of all WFJ channels: Boutiques, Lease, and Multi-Brand.
  • Manage and review the planning of all expenses in the WFJ P&L, with direct oversight of Cost of Sales, Advertising, Promotion and SMG&A, and WFJ Boutique Expense and indirectly over costs allocated from Fashion & Corporate. Perform a consolidated review of the WFJ P&L during each monthly update and budget reporting period.
  • Oversee and review a qualitative analysis of the expense budgets to identify risk or opportunity (via YTD-YTG reports and discussions with business partners). Report a consolidated summary to management.
  • Supervise the recognition of Q2 and year-end accruals, as well as all month-end close entries.
  • Prepare presentations to analyze and summarize the WFJ business at key moments during the fiscal year. This requires working directly with the WFJ Leadership team and their direct reports to create high-level presentations for the following meetings:
    • Annual Budget
    • Monthly Updates / Q1F & Q3F
    • MTP
    • Business Reviews
    • Global CFO Updates
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the WFJ General Manager and members of the WFJ Leadership Team
  • Serve as a key point of contact for Global Finance, Global WFJ Finance and US Corporate Finance
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and tasks as needed with limited supervisory input and direction
  • Ability to summarize and highlight key findings for senior management review

What you will bring to the team:


  • Minimum Education: bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 10 years of accounting, finance or planning experience. Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to interface across many levels of the organization
  • Solid knowledge of financial planning and exceptional analytical skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complexity


Position Logistics:


  • Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the designated location/office
  • New York, NY based role
  • Occasional travel required
  • Chanel, Inc. reserves the right to edit, change, or make exceptions on designations where circumstances where deemed appropriate.

Compensation:


  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $133,000 through $175,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks
