How You Will Make An Impact

As the Head of Brand Marketing and Creative, you will be the steward of ThredUp’s brand, leading a team that shapes how our brand comes to life across all consumer touchpoints. This role is pivotal in driving our brand strategy, growing the top of the funnel through integrated marketing campaigns, and managing the creative team to ensure consistency and innovation in our creative efforts. You will be a strategic advisor to the executive team, guiding the evolution and growth of our brand, category positioning, and market awareness.

In This Role You'll Get To:

  • Brand Strategy & Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with ThredUp’s mission and business objectives. Oversee brand building efforts and campaigns to maintain and enhance brand equity and perception in the market.
  • Creative Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of designers, writers, and creatives to deliver innovative and impactful creative work that resonates with our target audience. Ensure that our brand’s visual and verbal identity is consistent across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Full-Funnel Marketing Campaigns: Design and oversee the execution of integrated marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, consideration, and conversion. Work closely with the performance marketing team to ensure alignment between brand-building efforts and lower-funnel activities.
  • Consumer Touchpoints: Ensure that our brand comes to life in a cohesive and compelling way across all consumer touchpoints, including digital, social, in-app, email, PR, and offline experiences. Focus on creating a seamless and engaging customer journey.
  • Market Positioning & Branding: Act as a strategic adviser to the executive team on market and branding positioning. Provide insights and recommendations on how to elevate ThredUp’s market awareness and consideration.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, merchandising, and operations teams to ensure brand consistency and alignment with business goals. Partner with performance marketing to ensure that creative assets drive performance and conversion.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of brand marketers and creatives. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize consumer insights, market research, and data analytics to inform brand strategy and creative direction. Monitor brand performance metrics and make adjustments to optimize effectiveness.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in brand marketing and creative leadership roles, preferably within top B2C retail or e-commerce brands.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling brands, leading full-funnel marketing campaigns, and delivering high-impact creative work.
  • Experience advising C-suite executives on brand strategy, market positioning, and rebranding efforts.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while being hands-on with creative and brand execution.
  • Passion for sustainability, circular fashion, and ThredUp’s mission.

At ThredUp, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $230,000 and $265,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Many ThredUp employees also have the opportunity to own shares of ThredUp stock. ThredUp employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing ThredUp stock if voluntarily participating in ThredUp’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Subject to eligibility requirements, you’ll also receive other benefits: Comprehensive medical & dental coverage, vision, 401k, life and disability insurance.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
