Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Head of Robotics to lead the robotics initiatives. This person will be responsible for scouting and designing warehouse spaces, managing the installation of robotic systems, placing orders, managing vendors, negotiating contracts, and handling the physical equipment. This role requires someone skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously and evaluating robotics providers. Key Responsibilities

  • Scouting and Designing Warehouse Space:
    • Identify and evaluate potential warehouse locations.
    • Design and plan warehouse layouts to optimize space and workflow efficiency.
    • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the design meets operational requirements.
  • Robotics Integration and Maintenance:
    • Oversee the installation and integration of robotic systems and related infrastructure.
    • Manage the ongoing maintenance and operation of the robotics systems to ensure optimal performance.
    • Develop and implement protocols for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Vendor and Project Management:
    • Place orders for robotic systems and related equipment.
    • Manage vendor relationships and serve as the main point of contact.
    • Negotiate contracts to secure the best terms and conditions.
    • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
    • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project objectives are achieved.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
    • Drive innovation to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Build and lead a high-performing robotics team.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in robotics or logistics.
  • Previous experience setting up a warehouse and handling robotics hardware.
  • Experience managing multimillion-dollar orders of physical equipment.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and design principles.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Skilled communicator with excellent soft skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
