As an Industrial Engineer/Planner Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our production processes. As an Industrial Engineer/Planner Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our production processes. You will be responsible for auditing parts and materials, managing inventory, and coordinating interdepartmental activities to meet established production schedules. Your expertise in planning, scheduling, and materials management will be essential in optimizing production flow and improving customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Parts and Material Audits: Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly parts/material audits and physical cycle counts. Verify alignment with SAP, including part numbers, batch numbers, and proper physical locations.
- Schedule and Inventory Management: Act on all matters related to schedules, status, and inventory. Develop and assign productivity plans to meet established master schedules for customers.
- Work in Progress (WIP) Reporting: Provide detailed WIP status reports for customer calls. Monitor orders in WIP, replace rejected materials, and facilitate production holds.
- Inventory Reduction: Develop and implement an internal Kanban system to reduce inventory.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and control activities within quality assurance, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, production, and logistics.
- Material Requirements Planning: Develop material requirements from BOMs, monitor inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of critical hardware.
- Production Flow Coordination: Expedite the flow of materials to meet production requirements. Participate in build schedule generation to ensure proper scheduling of program requirements.
- Priority Setting: Set priorities with Functional and Line Managers to ensure products are properly supported and meet the program build schedule.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and present manufacturing performance and status reports.
- Scheduling Tools: Utilize Line of Balance (LOB) and scheduling tools to manage production schedules.
- Strategic Planning: Implement planning parameters, business planning, and integration techniques. Manage strategic planning, detailed scheduling, rough-cut capacity planning, and capacity requirements planning.
- Material Analysis and Planning: Conduct material analysis and planning, including new product introduction, change control coordination and execution, purchase part requisitioning, supplier scheduling, lead time reduction, and inactive and obsolete inventory dispositions.
- Systems Data Integrity: Ensure the integrity of systems data and effective measurements. Address challenges such as developing stable and responsive schedules, sourcing decisions, supplier partnerships, logistics, and cost analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of project management and/or process improvement methodologies, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Experience in productive interactions with factory workers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use planning and scheduling tools effectively.
- Strong communication skills to articulate plans, priorities, and performance reports clearly.
- Experience with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of Kanban systems and inventory management techniques.
- Proven track record in reducing lead times, increasing inventory turns, and improving manufacturing throughput.
- Familiarity with strategic planning, capacity planning, and supplier management.
