JobTitle: Installation, Integration & Commissioning Engineer (EF&I Technician)

Job Description

We seek an experienced EF&I Technician with a strong background in installing, commissioning, and integrating equipment from Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung, Cisco, Juniper, and ABB. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of 5G, 4G/LTE, CDMA, and/or UMTS integration experience required
  • 1–2 years of Nokia and Ericsson OEM equipment integration experience
  • AIR antenna integration experience
  • Experience with Fiber, RF, Electrical, CAT5/6, T1 Copper
  • Minimum 2 years of cell site environment experience
  • Ability to read and interpret construction/site documents and drawings
  • Ability to write detailed reports
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Physical ability to crouch, kneel, twist, reach, grasp, climb, sit, stand, bend, walk, and drive/ride in a truck for long periods
  • Willing to travel up to 100% for weeks at a time if required
  • Flexible for shift work, including maintenance windows and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable under company policy
  • Necessary proper installation tools required for market-specific scope
  • Local to the market
  • Ability to read and understand RFDS documents
  • Experience in the installation of AMIA, AMOB, ASIA, ASIB, ASIK, ABIA, ABIO, ABIL units
  • Integration knowledge of Ericsson BBU, Airscale FSM4, ESMB, FSME, or FSMF
  • Knowledge of using the RFS tool for SRAN config downgrades
  • Experience with Mid band conversion using AHFIG
  • Radio swap on 2.5 from AAHF to AEHC
  • Fiber handling and labeling with proper installation standards
  • GSM, UMTS, LTE & Anchor 2.5 e911 call testing & data testing
  • Knowledge of Ericsson and Nokia radios (AAFIA, FXFB, FRIA, FRIG, AHLOA, AHFB, AEHC, AAHF, AHFIG, AHFIB)
  • Experience in IXRE router integration, 7705, SAS, and SAR router integration

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, commission, integrate, and test 5G, 4G/LTE, CDMA, and UMTS on OEM equipment (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung) at customer cell sites
  • Work with deployment teams, engineering leads, management, and customer remote integration centers
  • Deploy to cell site locations for installation, commissioning, and integration of equipment
  • Perform new site builds (NSB), carrier ads, indoor systems, including all necessary elements (installation, integration, testing, transport, alarm, power, ground, cell site routers, SRS, and E911 call testing)
  • Understand RFDS
  • Load software and scripts for configuration as directed by the Remote Integration Center
  • Provide troubleshooting support for system commissioning and integration
  • Coordinate with construction crews and Remote Integration Center during troubleshooting
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other integration team members
  • Pick up OEM equipment from customer or company warehouse, care for it, scan, and report on equipment disposition
  • Log detailed daily activities during on-site efforts
  • Complete and deliver end-of-day and site completion reports daily
  • Travel throughout a regional territory and other regions as needed
  • Periodic air travel may be required
