About Retool

Nearly every company in the world runs on custom software: Gartner estimates that up to 50% of all code is written for internal use. This is the operational software for refunding orders, underwriting loans, onboarding employees, analyzing transactions, and providing customer support. But most companies don’t have adequate resources to properly invest in these tools, leading to a lot of old and clunky internal software or, even worse, users still stuck in manual and spreadsheet flows.

At Retool, we’re on a mission to bring good software to everyone. We’re building a new type of development platform that combines the benefits of traditional software development with a drag-and-drop UI editor and AI, making it dramatically faster to build internal tools. We believe that the future of software development lies in abstracting away the tedious and repetitive tasks developers waste time on, while creating reusable components that act as a force multiplier for future developers and projects. The result is not just productivity, but good software by default. And that’s a mission worth striving for.

Today, our customers span from small startups building their first operational tools to Fortune 500 companies building mission-critical apps for thousands of users across their business. Interested in joining us? Let us know!

DESIGN AT RETOOL

The design team at Retool makes decisions that will affect millions of people, from the developers creating software to the employees who operate it every day. Instead of designing just one product, we’re effectively designing unique software products for thousands of companies across many different verticals.

This also presents a unique design challenge. Because it’s possible to build nearly anything in Retool, we don’t have absolute control over how our users experience the product. We’re constantly seeking just the right balance between convention and configuration, between technical expressiveness and conceptual simplicity.

About The Role

Retool is looking for an Interactive Producer to define and scale how we deliver strategic, high-quality, and impactful work across our marketing site. You will build a program to support effective collaboration between design, product, engineering and marketing to ensure successful outcomes that support business goals, and use key metrics to inform how we make decisions across every commitment. This position sits within our Brand Design team, playing an important role in how we increase success across user experience, optimization and experimentation initiatives for Retool.com. We see our website as a product of its own and it requires constant consideration in evolving to best serve our customers both internally and externally.

In This Role, You Will

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define project requirements and scope against varying objectives, negotiating while driving for net positive and successful outcomes for the business.
  • Evangelize the design and engineering process across all Retool.com initiatives
  • Build and maintain a solid understanding of engineering resources, technical constraints, and requirements for optimization against marketing and design needs
  • Partner on the creative production process to best enable the design and engineering teams to deliver high-quality work that successfully connects to business impact without compromising on maintaining standardization
  • Develop systems for project documentation and status tracking in order to facilitate communication practices with stakeholders that ensure quality, impact, and efficiency while establishing clear decision-making expectations
  • Establish planning and resource processes in collaboration with design, product, engineering and marketing leadership on quarterly and annual project roadmaps
  • Act as a champion for the brand, and how design is applied globally

The Skillset You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as producer or program manager working in-house or in an agency setting focused on large scale web programs
  • General understanding of the formal elements of design and common web practices
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate web development processes both for creative and technical disciplines, guiding the execution from conception to launch
  • Experience working on web experimentation geared towards funnel optimization and activation with a strong understanding of maintaining a quality user experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; showcasing an ability to clearly communicate with team members, cross-functional partners, vendors, and leadership
  • Strong problem solving, project management, and organizational skills
  • You are detail-oriented, organized, and are driven to create and maintain systems that enable others to do their best work
  • A track record of successfully collaborating with design, marketing, product, and engineering partners to translate creative needs, marketing insights, and project constraints into informed decisions that support the needs of the business
  • An aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, balancing simultaneous workstreams while independently prioritizing work based on project objectives and business goals
  • Thoughtful, empathetic, and creative —you're a self-starter with a proactive work ethic and the ability to operate independently within a small team
