Interim General Counsel

Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim General Counsel (100% Remote, EST).

Overview: Our client is seeking a fully remote Interim General Counsel for 3+ months part-time, approximately 20 hours per week. The chosen candidate will travel to Charlotte, Miami and a manufacturing facility in Mississippi to evaluate legal questions and legal staffing needs for US based operations. At the end of the project, a written report with recommendations.

Company: Netherlands-based manufacturer of terminal tractors and other specialist industrial vehicles.

Experience:

• 7+ years experience as a General Counsel in the manufacturing space
• Experience evaluating legal staffing needs and building-out US based legal teams
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Draft a report after evaluating the legal staffing needs and legal questions.

Location: Fully Remote with travel to each location: Charlotte, Miami and manufacturing plant in Mississippi

Responsibilities Include:

• Travel to Charlotte, Miami and a manufacturing plant in Mississippi to evaluate legal questions and legal staffing needs for US based operations
• Review current contracts and documents to evaluate staffing needs
• Draft a comprehensive report on legal staffing and legal needs for US based operations.
• Coordinate with European colleagues

Qualifications Include:

• J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar
• Experience as a General Counsel in the manufacturing space
• Experience building legal teams and evaluating legal staffing needs for the US
• Experience redlining commercial agreements and working with sales teams; drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with vendors, strategic partners, and subcontractors
• Global experience- experience working with joint ventures
