General Description
The Social Media Intern is responsible for assisting social media presence, including the creation, curation, and potential distribution of unique and compelling content across digital platforms, as well as promoting engagement across the organization’s digital audience. The ideal candidate must additionally could create and/or lightly edit engaging social content using branded templates and mobile applications. The candidate will possess a deep understanding of how people digest and engage with social content and will be directed by the Senior Social Media Coordinator.

The ideal candidate must additionally could create and/or lightly edit engaging social content using branded templates and mobile applications. The candidate will possess a deep understanding of how people digest and engage with social content and will be directed by the Senior Social Media Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES Include But Are Not Limited To
- Assist in developing brand awareness and fan engagement.
- Assist in creating compelling and visually appealing content for social media platforms
- Monitor social media channels
- Collaborate with team members on planning and execution of social media campaigns, contests, and promotions.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in social media marketing, and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Provide support during game nights, capturing real-time content, archiving in-game photos and assisting coordinators with various content needs
- Deleting and archiving content that is no longer needed
- Tagging content in our analytics platform
- Archiving photos in our internal and external photo platforms for Marketing and players
- The 2024–2025 internship period will last from approximately September 2024 – April 2025
- College student, junior or senior (or graduated within 6 months) pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity and the ability to generate engaging content.
- Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with social media management tools is a plus.
- Previous experience in managing personal or organizational social media accounts is often preferred.
- Experience with creating and editing content (photos, videos, blogs) is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new trends and technologies.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent the brand positively.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
- The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
- The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
- The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
