General Mills is seeking an Inventory Control team member to join the team at the Murfreesboro Plant. This position will play an integral part of the inventory management of our plant. The inventory control position will support tracking of inventory to maintain accuracy and assist in decision-making in a highly cross-functional, interactive work environment. This position will work closely with the plant’s Warehouse and Finance teams to understand the operational and financial importance of ethical and accurate inventory management. Broad sets of responsibilities include inventory discrepancy investigation and resolution, internal monthly cycle counts, plant inventory reporting, and audit readiness.

Key Accountabilities
Facilitate inventory management practices through monthly cycle counts, annual wall to wall inventory count, and issuance of recounts when necessary.
Participate in annual HMM (cost savings) initiatives with cross functional HMM teams.
Assist in maintaining audit ready status of internal controls through periodic review and self-audits.
Provide technical leadership in a high performing and collaborative environment
Ensure accurate and timely inventory levels
Demonstrate full understanding of inventory movement - including warehouse use and layout
Support Continuous Improvement of inventory management processes
Support other plant and function initiatives as needed
Weekly/biweekly/monthly cycle counts and audits
Ordering non inventoried operating supplies
Monthly Blocked Stock and Hold verification report
Work closely with quality and site planners to identify and communicate issues and assist in reconciliations
Identify and effectively communicate opportunities in warehouse inventory management with Logistics Operators
Work closely with logistics analyst to identify can correct receiving/inventory inaccuracies and complete month and year end tasks
Capable of prioritizing tasks and time management
Support Quality in trace, recall, and audit situations which will include pulling reports and guiding them through WMS
Other duties as assigned including backup as needed other logistic positions
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED
1-2 years of related experience (Logistics, Warehousing, SC)
Proficient in Excel and Outlook
Able to work safely and promote safety in the plant
Self-managed individual with demonstrated motivation and initiative
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with individuals of various levels and functions

Working knowledge of Blue Yonder (WMS)

Experience working in a finance/accounting/supply chain role within manufacturing

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $46000.00 - $63400.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
