Job Description
Position: Network Administrator / Oracle DBA
Department: Network
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Summary:
This position is involved with the daily administration of Networks, Firewalls, Switches, Servers, Security, System Backups, Communication lines, Procedures and Processes, support of desktop operating systems and software, and Oracle DBA functions as listed below. Performs analytical, technical, and administrative work to plan, design, and install networked and stand-alone computer systems. Analyzes user needs and evaluates new products; recommends hardware and software purchases. Installs and troubleshoots software and hardware. Provides telephone and on-site support.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with other units to improve access to and maximize use of computing resources. Develops documentation, user procedures, and security procedures. May conduct hands-on training sessions and instructional classes in hardware and software applications assigned to the position. Contributes to the establishment and maintenance of software and documentation libraries.
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle client/server software, databases (standalone & RAC) and related products
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
Patch Management and Version Control
Database/application tuning and performance monitoring
Maintenance of data center and customer systems
Database documentation and standards
Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required
Perform technical troubleshooting and provide consultation to development teams
Capacity planning
Experience and Educational Requirements:
Administration of Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019/2022 Servers, LINUX Servers, Workstations, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and GPO.
Good knowledge of all IIS, Nginx, Apache, and Tomcat.
Managing Switches/VLAN’s/Routers/Firewalls/IDS/IPS.
Understanding of TCP/IP addressing, routing protocols, network management protocols
Planning, coordinating and implementing network security measures
Experience in Performance Tuning, Capacity Planning & Performance Monitoring
Backup and DR restorations
Virtualization experience (AWS/VMWare/Hyper-V)
Network Monitoring tools, Syslog server , SIEM tools
Good understanding of the Oracle database (10G, 11G, standalone and RAC) and related utilities on all major platforms (Windows and Linux)
A good understanding of the underlying operating system
Good knowledge of physical and logical database design concepts
Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
Oracle tools (Grid Control, AWR reports, RMAN, Data pump, SQL loader)
Script writing – SQL, PL/SQL and Operating System (Linux shell scripts, Windows batch files)
A good knowledge of Oracle security management
Knowledge of all Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
A good understanding of Oracle data integrity
A good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources
Experience in database migration using physical and logical methods
Ability to work with cross platform teams (IT, Development etc.)
Excellent communication skills – should be able to communicate well with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Oracle DBA certification preferred
Can do attitude
Data Center Experience is a plus
Any certification is a plus
Any Scripting tools is a plus
SAN (Dell Equal logic) is a plus
Experience writing policies and procedures and assisting compliance department with gap analysis is a plus
