The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology (CCTI) is a dynamic research center dedicated to bridging the gap between basic immunology and clinical applications. We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our technology team and provide essential support to faculty, researchers, administrators, and students.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the on-site, day-to-day IT operations of the CCTI, ensuring seamless technology support and enabling research advancements. You will collaborate closely with the Chief of Staff, CUIMC IT, and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain IT systems that meet the center’s evolving needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive IT support, including hardware and software troubleshooting, device management, and user assistance.
  • Purchase, Manage and maintain the IT inventory, ensuring accurate tracking of equipment and licenses.
  • Collaborate with researchers to identify and resolve technical challenges related to scientific applications and equipment.
  • Oversee remote meeting scheduling and support for platforms such as Zoom, MS365, and GoToAssist.
  • Contribute to IT projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and user experience, including but not limited to publication of items on website.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA/HITECH).
  • Foster strong relationships with faculty, staff, and researchers to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant IT support experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scientific software and hardware.
  • Knowledge of auditing standards (COBIT, ISO/IEC 2000, ITIL) and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
  • Google Analytics Certification.
  • PMP certification.

  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
