Junior Accountant

FlyUSA is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our accounting department. As a Junior Accountant, you will work under the CFO, in collaboration with the Staff Accountant and Senior Staff Accountant. This role will initially require in-office presence, with the ability to transition to a hybrid work arrangement following training. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and be able to multitask effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow within our organization as we are in a period of rapid growth.

Location: Clearwater, FL (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

• Recording Transactions: Enter financial transactions into the accounting software and/or spreadsheets. This includes invoices, payments, expenses, and receipts
• Assist with month and year end close processes.
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices for payment, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payment. Maintain records of accounts payable and reconcile statements
• Accounts Receivable: Generate customer invoices, track payments received, and follow up on overdue accounts. Reconcile accounts receivable ledger and prepare aging reports
• General Ledger: Assist with maintaining the general ledger by reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting regulations and standards
• Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (e.g., Business Central, etc.) and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) proficiently to perform duties efficiently
• Communication: Collaborate with other departments, vendors, and clients to resolve issues and provide financial information as needed
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and contribute to implementing best practices
  
  

Qualifications:

• Previous experience (internship or entry-level position) in accounting preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and accounting software
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
