The Role…

We are recruiting for a Junior Communications Manager, North America, who will be responsible for consumer and lifestyle communications for Soho House, as well as Soho Home, Soho Works, and public restaurants like Cecconi’s, across the U.S. Working with the global communications team, the successful candidate will develop and drive a compelling media and creator communications strategy that supports membership and commercial prioritise and drive awareness of the Soho House brand in key cities. They will also support critical employee communications activities.

Main Duties

  • Manage US communications for Soho House, including new and existing Houses, Soho Home, Soho Works, Restaurants, and Cities Without Houses memberships, under the guidance of the Head of Communications International
  • Develop communications plans designed to deliver coverage and content across traditional, digital media, and social influencers
  • Play an active role in developing US media and creator relationships across lifestyle, travel, food, fashion, interiors, design publications and influential voices
  • Create and maintain up-to-date press office materials eg media kits, announcement alerts, product mailers, and other relevant materials for use in outreach
  • Manage an external PR agency team to deliver agreed plans and be a proactive, enthusiast partner
  • Look for brand appropriate opportunities to amplify Soho House’s presence at major cultural events, working in partnership with membership, events and operations teams
  • Day-to-day management of the internal communications platform and assisting with content creation for leadership team members
  • Be the eyes and ears for the communications team, while protecting the reputation of Soho House in North America; monitor the press inbox and inquiries, compile weekly reports, etc.
  • Travel to other US cities required on ad hoc basis

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of agency or in-house experience, with a proven track record of building media and influencer relationships and securing coverage and content within the hospitality and leisure sector.
  • Good understanding and proven execution of communication ideas within travel, food, fashion, design, interiors, and general lifestyle media.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills; ability to quickly adopt the brand’s tone of voice and ensure communications across the group are consistent and on-brand.
  • Firm understanding of social media platforms and experience in building relationships and working with content creators in a non-commercial capacity
  • Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to change priorities without frustration and maintain a calm disposition
  • High level of attention to detail, organized and proactive
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves, can-do attitude, and willingness to help and support a small, friendly team

In accordance with New York law, the salary range for this role if filled within New York is listed below. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
