In this role, you will be pivotal in developing comprehensive financial plans and analyzing results in the Energy and Public Entity sectors within the Middle Market business. You will thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment, providing insights and analyses that support critical business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and manage accurate budgets and financial plans through effective planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Communication: Collaborate with management to explain budgeting and financial planning processes, identify factors impacting financial trends, and highlight opportunities for improvement. Create effective visualizations to communicate business plans.
Strategic Support: Work with profit center leaders to deliver top-notch products, services, and analyses that support strategic business decisions.
Forecasting & Modeling: Create complex ad hoc and ongoing financial forecasts and models that assist in decision-making and clearly communicate trends and outcomes.
Reporting: Generate and analyze complex management reports, leveraging business acumen to lead in identifying and communicating the drivers of business results.
Process Improvement: Initiate and lead departmental projects and continuous improvement activities, continually assessing and implementing enhancements to work processes.
Team Development: Foster a development-focused environment by assigning projects that enhance team strengths and sharing knowledge through training and reviews.
System Management: Train other team members on financial systems, manage key interfaces and interdependencies, and recommend enhancements to financial systems and processes.
Location
Candidates located near our offices in Boston, Chicago, New York, or Plano are preferred, although remote candidates will be considered. Candidates within a 50-mile radius of our office locations should expect to work onsite two days a week, subject to change.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics required; CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or analytics.
Experience with large data sets, advanced Excel functionality, and tools like PowerBI, Power Query, and PowerPivot is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills within teams and across organizational boundaries.
Proven ability to lead meetings and communicate complex issues and trends to senior management.
