The candidate for this position will be successful if able to perform a variety of legal secretarial duties of a confidential nature. These tasks will include working with attorneys and paralegals with a series of administrative functions. Therefore, the candidate must have effective time management and organizational skills, coupled with the ability to be detail-oriented.


Compensation commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe correspondence and pleadings from dictation; email correspondence and documents/pleadings from transcription
  • Perform other various administrative functions, such as managing attorney calendar, filing, organizing client files
  • First point of contact for clients, attorneys, and court personnel; answering multi-line telephone


Required Skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as with other staff to effectively complete tasks
  • Ability to set goals, multi-task, and prioritize workload in an autonomous, results-oriented environment
  • Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods and work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
  • Ability to coordinate projects and handle changing priorities


Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Prior experience in a law office administrative setting preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Wordperfect, Microsoft Word, Adobe Professional, and various web-based applications and/or document management programs
