Maintenance Engineer

Overview

The Maintenance Engineer will lead installation and qualification/validation of new systems and equipment. He/she will be responsible for demand maintenance, preventative maintenance, calibration, facilities, IT and EHS activities to sustain equipment, reduce equipment downtime and support manufacturing. This role will take the lead on technical and complex projects to support sustaining and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Systems and Service

  • Lead laser system and equipment validations, upgrades, relocations, transfers, and new installations including the writing of protocols and reports pertaining to Installation Qualifications (IQ) and Operational Qualifications (OQ).
  • Effectively test, troubleshoot, and repair laser systems, measurement systems and ancillary equipment including laser optical alignment, electrical systems, plumbing systems and PLC's.
  • Lead and facilitate demand maintenance and preventive maintenance Corrective actions and Nonconforming Material Events including root cause investigation reports.
  • Additional areas of focus include, but are not limited to spare parts inventory, metric tracking, procedure generation, failure mode and repair record keeping, maintenance and repair scheduling, technician training, laser/equipment refurbishments.
  • Improve, review, and maintain necessary procedures for compliance to ISO/QMS standards.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects or tasks to reduce equipment downtime and to support organizational goals.

Facility, EH&S

  • Assist with the facility maintenance activities and projects for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, process gas systems, compressed air, fire, security, and IT systems.
  • Work in conjunction with the Company's EH&S consultant and the Company's Safety Committee to ensure the Company complies with all Federal, State and Local Laws and Regulations including the timely filing of all permits and reports, including employee training. Assist with the development, review, implementation and training of Safety Policies and Procedures

Qualifications

  • 10 years applicable experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Electronics discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and remote communications.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem solving/ troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.
  • 5S, Lean Six Sigma Knowledge.
  • Able to work effectively with customers.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Interact effectively with individuals of all levels.
  • Experience reading blueprints and schematics.
