Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic Mechanical Aptitude
  • Good Communication Skills:written and oral

REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance

General Summary

Performs skilled and remedial work in completing preventative maintenance and related activities of school facilities.

Performance Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, all categories
  • Willingness to expand your skill set
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Know and understand standard practices, tools, and maintenance terminology
  • Ability to work in tight and high spaces / not afraid to use a ladder
  • Ability to work alone
  • Understand and implement standard safety practices
  • Follow written/oral instructions and perform all assigned duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance
  • Work with others consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner

Working Conditions

Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors with exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, humidity, dust, fumes, wetness and heights. Work includes use of paints and strong agents which require proper handling and use. Job requires occasional strenuous physical exertion in lifting and moving items weighing up to seventy-fifty pounds. Routine local travel requires the operation of a vehicle, maintenance equipment, machinery and tools. Work assignments often require constant focus and attention.

Salary: Maintenance Salary Schedule (243 days)
