Job Summary: This position supports the Baptist Haiti Mission’s ministry objectives by cultivating individual donors to increase major gifts and long-term partnerships. Through collaboration with the Executive Director, this role will work to achieve fundraising goals and ensure consistent mission and program messaging. The responsibilities include securing new major gifts, cultivating donor relationships, preparing the solicitation, and developing transformational giving.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieves and maintains a solid working knowledge of BHM’s ministries and can effectively articulate each entity verbally and in writing.
  • Manages cultivating and developing current and prospective individual donor relationships to build a pipeline for major gifts.
  • Qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards relationships with current and prospective individual donors through excellent planning and strategic development activities via phone, email, mail, and in-person visits.
  • Involves the giver in meaningful and documented gift strategy discussions. This includes outright and deferred giving options, such as cash gifts, stock, real estate transfers, bequests, and other giving methods.
  • Writes, assembles, and submits funding requests, solicitation letters, acknowledgments, and stewardship reports on a timely basis.
  • Develop growth strategies for new and current individual donors and set annual goals.
  • Actively works to discover new giving prospects through internal and external sources.
  • Acknowledges gifts in a timely and personally appropriate manner, ensuring donors understand their gifts' significance while feeling valued and connected to the ministry.
  • Maintains timely records of all constituent activity in the donor database.
  • Participates in internal development team meetings and other organizational meetings as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of donors’ information and interactions.
  • Travel to Haiti several times (when safe and viable) to meet BHM staff and schools. Repeat as necessary.  


Requirements:

·      Successful experience in non-profit fundraising and the cultivation of major gifts.

·      Be a follower of Jesus Christ.


*Additional Notes: The MGO is expected to have a presence in Texas for critical events and meetings while also having the flexibility to work from home. This position requires travel to meet with donors and stakeholders and participate in relevant conferences and events.
