Manager, Investment Accounting

As the Manager of Investment Accounting, you will be responsible for accurately recording all investment activity for our group's five life insurance companies. Ideally, you will have extensive knowledge of alternative asset classes such as structured securities (CLO, MBS, CMBS, and ABS), private credit investments, and derivatives. You must also stay up to date with all new statutory and GAAP accounting pronouncements, regulations, and NAIC guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance in all investment reporting.

In addition to working with internal and external asset managers, you will act as a liaison to the investment accounting provider. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys working collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly investment accounting close
• Manage the preparation of the investment schedules for the 5 quarterly and annual statutory statements including IMR, AVR and footnote disclosures
• Preparation of quarterly investment income analysis
• Assist in the preparation of the quarterly GAAP statements
• Manage the investment components of Risk Based Capital reporting
• Support the annual AM Best Supplemental Rating Questionnaire process
• Support the transition to a new investment accounting provider
• Prepare and review reinsurance collateral reports
• Work closely with the middle office to ensure trades are recorded accurately
• Assist with interim and year end audits.

Experience And Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Accounting
• Minimum of seven years of life insurance investment accounting experience
• Reinsurance experience
