Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Review requests for quotes (RFQ) and prepare detailed estimate sheets, including time standards, material specifications, outside vendor services, associated costs, tooling, and any notes/exceptions. Maintain and develop inside sales relationships with customers to maximize sales potential through proactive quote follow-up. Responsible for process engineering functions, including preparation of all necessary information required to run any job, such as master files, blueprints, material specifications, outside service vendors, tooling requirements, accurate machine standards, and customer contact. Participate in events and use Lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency. Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing methods for new and existing products. Revise methods suggested by new equipment, process changes, and special requirements. Make recommendations to improve manufacturing methods for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency. Create work orders and consult with manufacturing to develop accurate lead time and shipping schedules. Perform order entry and maintain customer records in accordance with established policies. Calculate materials for new orders and review material certifications. Perform related duties within the scope of the Engineering/Purchasing Department.

Hard Skills

  • Experience with Machining
  • Knowledge of Lathe, Mills, and other CNC machines
  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with the manufacturing process

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Buffalo, New York.

Work Environment
