Position background

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Tjoapack, you will thrive in a challenging environment, utilizing your attention to detail and project-focused mindset. Operating in a highly regulated market, we require someone who can translate both the company's and customer's requirements into solutions that align with our current and future plans while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you are part of the team that plays a key role in transforming the pharmaceutical supply chain and accordingly (re)packaging medicines to make them timely available for the relevant markets.

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will collaborate closely with Technical Services, Quality Assurance, and our valued customers.

Your responsibilities include

  • Design, propose, and implement process enhancements with the following objectives:
    • Enhance process quality.
    • Improve process efficiency.
    • Reduce process costs.
    • Take the lead in root cause analyses (RCA) and develop/implement corrective actions.
  • Actively participate in Change Control (CC), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Risk Assessments (RA), and validation activities as required.
  • Manage all approved and relevant projects associated with process enhancement.
  • Develop and maintain capital budgets for new processes and process enhancements.
  • Effectively manage time and priorities to ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks. This role will involve spending approximately 50% of the time on the production floor evaluating processes, with the remaining time in the office environment

Job requirements

Your Background, qualification, And Skills 

  • Engineering Degree in a relevant field of equivalent or on-the-job experience
  • Essential experience in automated assembly, packaging, or forming processes is required for success. Familiarity with pharmaceutical packaging is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing methodology for continuous improvement.
  • Essential experience in automated assembly, packaging, or forming processes is required for success. Familiarity with pharmaceutical packaging is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proven ability to investigate, define, and resolve complex issues, including proficiency in root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Previous production environment experience with adept collaboration across disciplines and departments.
