Manufacturing Engineering Manager

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team in St. Nazianz. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team, including Engineers and Work Instruction Writers. This role reports to the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:


  • Improves manufacturing efficiency, cost, product quality, and worker safety by analyzing current methods, new methods, new technologies and cost reduction activities in selected areas.
  • Develops, designs and plans equipment and machine layouts, workflow, and safety precautions to maximize utilization of plant and manufacturing facilities.
  • Evaluates worker productivity and recommends improvements to increase manpower efficiency and operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost control/reductions.
  • Develops metrics to measure plant and equipment capacity output and identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
  • Establishes accident prevention measures and plans and schedules training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operation and ensures compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
  • Determines facility specifications, including analysis and evaluation of location, material resources, and structural design.
  • Resolves technical problems and recommends production improvement.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


The annual salary for this role is $104,250 - $152,900 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have:


  • A Bachelor's degree is required; Engineering and/or Business discipline preferred
  • 8 or more years of manufacturing, engineering and/or heavy industrial experience with experience supporting a manufacturing line


The ideal candidate will have:


  • Positive energy, with good coaching skills for new MEs
  • Ability to influence others (peers, senior managers, directors); previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Solid knowledge of design for manufacturability and assembly
  • High percentage of manufacturing floor presence
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodology is preferred
  • MBA is preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO9001/ISO14001/ISO50001
  • Kaizen management for continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with s trong presentation skills and comfort presenting to senior executives
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Basic or novice level skills with Access and simulation tools for Industrial Engineering
