We are seeking a skilled, innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Derrick family. In this pivotal role, you will focus on developing the latest mechanical design solutions to enhance machine reliability and performance and accelerate our technology to the next level. - Perform testing and validation of prototypes to ensure reliability and durability in demanding environments, including aiding in basic assembly and testing of designs, prototypes, and concepts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
- Continuously research new ways to improve existing designs and processes, contributing to the development of innovative solutions.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in technology to incorporate best practices into your work.
- Analyze and conduct simulations to verify design integrity and performance.
- Complete project tasks within defined timelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or technology.
- Experience in mechanical design engineering
- Previous experience with “hands-on” design development.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform detailed simulations and analyses.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- A passion for innovation and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
- Experience in FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, machining, and welded fabrications.
