About The Position

ACP is currently hiring part-time or full-time Mental Health Practitioners for Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) and Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) skills to clients within our Community-Based Program. In this role, you’ll provide skills support to a wide variety of clients in an in-home setting in Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Anoka Counties.

The AMHS/CTSS role is a great opportunity to obtain clinical experience and explore internship opportunities while in a Master's program.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual (ARMHS) and family skills (CTSS) training in a community-based setting.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships and teaching skills while supporting clients as they learn and practice skills.
  • Establish personal recovery and rehabilitative goals with each client.
  • Complete individualized documentation for each session.
  • Coordinate services with the client's team as indicated (therapist, case manager, family, guardians, primary care, school staff, etc.)

Requirements: There are a few ways you can qualify to apply for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or related field and 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with:
  • Mental illness, substance use disorder, Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects. Note: ACP can provide this if no documentation is provided from another agency.
  • Or is fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50 percent of the practitioner's clients belong, and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.
  • Or has completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults or children served, and was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; or Is working in a MHCP-enrolled adult or children’s day treatment program.

Qualification through relevant work experience:

  • At least 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with: Mental illness, substance use disorder, or Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects. Note: ACP can provide this if no documentation is provided from another agency.
  • At least 2,000 hours of work experience and receives treatment supervision at least once per week until meeting the requirement of 4,000 hours in the delivery of services to adults or children with: Mental illness, or substance use disorder; or Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes 30 hours of additional training on mental illness, recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.

Other Requirements:

  • Strong clinical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Integrity, self-reliance, and self-motivation.
  • Timely, accurate submission of documents as required.
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance and willingness to travel within the Twin Cities metro area.
