Position Summary

The Animator is a dynamic and essential member of the production team, eager to contribute creatively to the company's projects. An Animator is detail-oriented and possesses a solid foundation of animation, audio and video editing, and motion design fundamentals. Animators should have a well-rounded understanding of animation principles and demonstrate proficiency in a range of techniques, including puppet tool animation, frame-by-frame animation, character design, character rigging, lip-syncing, storyboarding, and digital illustration. They should also be adept in compositing, motion graphic design and animation, typography, video editing, color correction, and audio mixing. The Animators produce audio video content, like TV commercials, and switch to executing pre- and post-production for projects, including 2-D character animations as per the project requirements.

In this role, the Animators not only assist senior animators in the execution of high-level projects but also lead smaller projects independently. They are responsible for creating engaging and polished audio/video content and character animations, ensuring that the final output aligns with the project's goals and company standards. Animators will be evaluated on their ability to produce a basic 30-second TV commercial in 6-7 hours and character animated commercials in 20-24 hours.

Position Responsibilities

  • Show command of the English and Spanish languages with a capacity to critique and correct voice-over delivery, grammar, graphics.
  • Required to produce 1+ (basic) commercials per day.
  • Produce audio/video content in a timely manner.
  • Commercial pre-production.
  • Communicate with Account Coordinators and Account Executives about the creative look.
  • Search, collect and log assets needed for commercial/video production (images, logos, videos, music, etc.)
  • Video editing.
  • Video compositing.
  • Knowledge and execution of visual effects techniques.
  • Motion graphics design expertise.
  • Advanced motion graphics animation.
  • Excellent character animation techniques.
  • Excellent audio editing for voiceovers.
  • Audio production (mix voice-over, music, and sound effects).
  • Assists with pre-viz and storyboarding for shoots and other projects.
  • Commercial proofing for content accuracy.
  • Commercial proofing for animation and design techniques.
  • Video encoding (convert .mov files to .mp4s etc.)
  • Upload commercials to designated destinations.
  • Organize, clean, and collect working files to designated destinations.
  • Status updates and attendance at meetings.

Position Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and Spanish (fluent) in order to create and produce audio/video content on both languages.
  • Associate’s Degree in related field (animation, film, visual effects, and multimedia production); certificate or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 year’s full-time experience.
  • Must be proficient with: Adobe CS, Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D or Maya, Pro-tools or Audition, Microsoft Office Suit; Mac OSX operating system.
  • Knowledge of design principles
  • Produce audio and video at a fast pace
  • Knowledge of client preferences
  • Knowledge of manufacturer design guidelines
  • Strong teamwork mentality.
  • Persistence when encountering obstacles to keep the project moving to completion.
  • Consistently show respect for colleagues at all levels to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise.
