Make your mark in public service. As an accredited public health department, we're seeking two highly qualified candidates for the position of MRC Grant Assistant within the Division of Health Protection, Emergency Preparedness Section in Atlanta Georgia.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor the disbursement and utilization of funds for awardees and sub-recipients of the MRC-STTRONG grant.
  • Maintain a comprehensive tracking system to monitor the flow of funds, ensuring accuracy and adherence to grant guidelines.
  • Review awardees' and sub-recipients’ financial reports and expenses to verify compliance with grant regulations and budget restrictions.
  • Collaborate with awardees and relevant stakeholders to address any funding-related queries or concerns.
  • Provide guidance and support to awardees in understanding grant financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to MRC-STTRONG recipients and assist with facilitating development of additional MRC units
  • Prepare regular reports and summaries detailing the funding status, including expenditure analysis and forecasting.
  • Identify any potential budgetary issues or discrepancies and escalate them to the appropriate authorities.
  • Conduct periodic site visits or meetings with volunteer units to assess financial management and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated with the MRC- STTRONG grant policies and guidelines to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is provided to awardees.
  • Provide reports to MRC Statewide Coordinator and Volunteer Program Director as needed.
  • Completing other duties as assigned that are relevant to successfully executing the grant including, but not limited to, attending key programmatic meetings and conferences, trainings, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience related to area of assignment.

Employment Information

All approved teleworking employees must reside within the state of Georgia and depending on the responsibilities of the position, must live within reasonable driving distance of the agency’s primary worksite and be able to report to the office when required.

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.

The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
