Job Title: National Account Manager (NAM)

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Job Overview: Due to our rapid growth, we are currently looking for motivated sales professionals to help drive our business expansion model forward. NAMs will be our core sales representation inside their respective territory. Their main focus will be on acquiring new partnerships with region-specific accounts as defined in our sales process.

  • Operate with responsibility: Take pride in your work. Pay attention to detail.
  • Communication is key: Clarity on tasks or objectives is paramount. Between all the different forms of communication in today’s business, a message can sometimes be confusing. Set the expectations early about asking questions for clarity if needed. Having to “work backwards” because of a misunderstanding can become costly.
  • Own your mistakes: Don’t make excuses and don’t explain your way out of it. Be a professional. Admit you made a mistake, learn from it, apologize (if necessary), and move on.

Strategic Job Functions

  • Communication and Interaction with Management:
    • Due to the nature of this front-line sales position, it is critical to be a good communicator. As a NAM, you are in a very independent job that requires you to keep many people updated on your progress. The following are expectations in this area:
      • Attend and participate in periodic team meetings and contribute strategic information to the team including key results from your past week's activities, updates on current pipeline and target accounts, and a review of this week’s key upcoming activities.
      • Update and use facility management teams as your source for operational support and account strategy.
      • Communicate with Leadership as needed.
  • Product Knowledge:
    • You are responsible for staying updated on our various facilities and services.
    • It is important for you to know who our top customers are and what types of specific solutions we provide to them.
    • Know and utilize our Management and Executive Team as subject matter experts.
  • Market Intelligence:
    • As a NAM, you are required to remain and keep us updated on current and developing regional market intelligence such as:
      • Market growth, development, activity, and other applicable trends.
      • Competitive Information and Activity.
      • Evolving Customer and Trade Requirements.
      • Regional Supply/Demand.
    • You should be involved in applicable local trade groups and networking opportunities:
      • Chamber of Commerce.
      • Economic Development Authorities.
      • Transportation Club.
      • Ports.
      • Trade Shows.
  • Territory Management:
    • As you could be assigned a territory, it is part of your job requirement that you manage your territory and uncover every potential account that resides in it. You will be the face of our company.
    • Our NAMs are expected to have extensive knowledge of their territory:
      • Existing warehousing zones and developing areas.
      • Users and potential users of our services.
      • Economic trends and factors that impact your territory business.
    • NAM will build and foster relationships with key decision-makers to uncover current or potential future needs for our services.
Tactical Job Functions

  • Generate new leads through prospecting activities and action internal leads.
  • Create and maintain a sales pipeline leading to targeted opportunity creation and closed deals.
  • Revenue Contribution Expectations:
    • End of year 1 (starting hire date +30 days) - $5,000,000.
  • Target Account Management:
    • NAM would be expected to have a minimum of $50,000,000 active opportunity revenue volume after 12 months (or 10x current expectation).
  • Actively use HubSpot to manage your target accounts through the sales process:
    • Activities should be recorded and records updated daily.
    • Within 24 hours of the activity max.
  • Maximum 2-hour response to all client inquiries, rate requests, etc.:
    • We strive for an immediate response when practical in order to exceed expectations.

Qualifications

  • A high level of motivation, initiative, curiosity, and above all else willingness to learn.
  • Experience in Warehousing & Distribution Services, Supply Chain, Contract Logistics, Real Estate, or Financing solutions sales.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving business development.
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
