Network Engineer

The pay range for this position is $96,200 - $130,000/ annually. This position is remote based.

We're looking for a Network Engineer that will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our organization's network infrastructure. They will work on configuring and optimizing network devices such as switches, firewalls, and access points to ensure seamless connectivity, security, and performance. They will also troubleshoot network issues, monitor network health, and develop and enforce security policies to safeguard data and resources. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, plan network upgrades, and stay updated on emerging technologies to keep the organization's network infrastructure efficient, reliable, and aligned with business needs.

Our ideal candidate will have designed and implemented a network from the ground up and have experience performing network hardware upgrades across multiple sites. E xperience with Juniper SRX, QFX, EX is required, and s ome linux and/or scripting experience is desired.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design and Architecture: Collaborate with internal teams to design, plan, and implement network solutions using Juniper SRX, QFX, EX, Cisco Industrial Ethernet switches, and Mist wireless technology.
• Configuration and Management: Configure, deploy, and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, and access controls to protect against cyber threats.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network issues, performance problems, and connectivity outages in a timely manner .
• Wireless Networking: Design and manage wireless networks using Mist wireless technology, ensuring seamless and secure connectivity for end-users.
• Monitoring and Optimization: Set up and maintain network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address network bottlenecks, anomalies, and performance improvements.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Vendor Management: Interact with vendors and suppliers for procurement, support, and troubleshooting of network equipment.
• Project Management: Lead network projects from inception to completion, managing timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
  
  

Qualifications

Skills and Requirements

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer with expertise in Juniper SRX, QFX, EX**, Cisco Industrial Ethernet switches, and Mist wireless technology.
• **Please note there will be a homework assignment to showcase Juniper skillset.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
• Experience in network security practices and technologies.
• Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., prometheus , grafana , alert manager, Libre NMS , etc.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., JNCIA, CCNA, Mist Certified Wireless Engineer) are highly desirable.
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
