Network Engineer will work both in-house and remote assigned projects, working directly with clients on occasion. As part of an organization's IT team, Network Engineer will work closely with the End User Computing group, Cloud & Computer team, Identity & Collaboration group, as well as other Network Engineers and Business Analysts .
Designing and implementation of new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP, both with physical and virtual network environments.
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
Configuring firewalls, routers and switches to maximize network efficiency and security.
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Arranging scheduled upgrades
Investigating faults in the network
Maintain network documentation, run-books, diagrams, and network assets in the configuration management database (CMDB)
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
Reporting network status to key stakeholders
Covering all aspects of firewall administration such as hardware, operating system, encryption tunnels, day-to- operations of firewall rule sets, intrusion protection systems, routing, and VPNs, Load Balancers
Enforce network security strategies and procedures.
Engineer network solutions and standards based on requirements, best practices, and technical knowledge.
Participate in network security planning and network engineering.
Perform scopes of work as detailed in implementation plans assigned, such as, system builds, test plans, documentation, and training.
Implement and deploy data and network security projects, change management, ongoing maintenance activities, and network engineering support.
Execute service requests and document changes (such as new environment builds, major changes, version upgrades)
Job Qualifications And Requirements
B.A. or B.S. degree in Information Technology or System is preferred, but not necessary.
