Scion Nonprofit Staffing is leading a search for a Nonprofit Regional Director for our client, an amazing organization that focuses on supporting caregivers and adoptive parents throughout Ohio! This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of an impactful and professional growing nonprofit, with this role operating remotely within Southwest Ohio. This is a direct hire, full-time opportunity.


Position Description

The Regional Director is a full-time position dedicated to building family-level supports for program in their assigned region(s). The Regional Director reports to the Associate Program Director of Family Practice and supervises a regional team which may include – a Regional Coordinator and Coach(es). The Regional Director will partner with the Regional Coordinator and Coach(es) to ensure the service delivery and capacity building objectives of the program are successfully met within their region. The Regional Director will also work with the statewide evaluation team to ensure that successful data collection and continuous quality improvement activities are completed for the region.


The Regional Director will build and maintain local partnerships and co-facilitate regular Regional Advisory Council meetings designed to engage local stakeholders. In partnership with the Regional Advisory Council, the Community Engagement team will develop a regional implementation plan to build their region’s capacity to serve kin caregivers and adoptive parents. The Regional Director’s responsibilities include strategic leadership at the regional level, program design and implementation, community engagement, evaluation and CQI, and partnering with program families.


What You Will Be Doing

Strategic Leadership

  • Exemplifies the mission, vision, and values of the program.
  • Leads and sustains the implementation and continuous quality improvement of the program in a multi-county regional area in a manner that is responsive to the needs of kinship and adoptive families, considers the resources and capacity of individual counties and local communities, ensures fidelity to the program model, and supports formal program evaluation and CQI activities.
  • Leads a regional staff team.
  • Inspires a shared sense of purpose among key stakeholders, including families served, public and private human service organizations, community leaders, and staff.
  • Contributes to the success of the statewide program by building collaborative relationships with peer regional directors, actively sharing ideas and information, and contributing personal creativity and critical thinking to the ongoing refinement and success of Program Design and Implementation.
  • Implements consistent with the program model, project timeline, and budget.
  • Hires, trains, and supports regional staff, including a Regional Coordinator and two Coaches.
  • In conjunction with the Associate Director of Community, the Regional Community Director, the Regional Advisory Council and evaluation team identify gaps and barriers and develop strategies and objectives for developing necessary resources to eliminate barriers and bridge gaps.
  • Manages the process for selecting organizations to serve as host sites for Navigators and site supervisors within the region.
  • Initiates formal agreements with partnering organizations; forges close collaborative relationships with the same; and plans with partnering organizations for the selection, onboarding, training, and supervision of Navigators.
  • Ensures the initial training of Navigators and site supervisors (and regular case consultation conducted by Coaches) and ongoing peer support through learning collaboratives.
  • Engages in and support community engagement activities, as required to deliver relevant and effective outcomes.

Evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)

  • Champions evaluation and CQI practices for the region; effectively communicates the same to partnering organizations and stakeholders; and utilizes performance and outcome data to inform decision making.
  • Directly and in conjunction with regional Coaches and evaluation staff, supports partnering organizations in their collection, input, and utilization of evaluation data and constructive learning through the application of sound CQI practices.
  • Achieves targets for data collection, data integrity, program fidelity, and CQI practices.
  • Participates in and facilitates CQI meetings and activities as assigned.
  • Support the implementation and utilization of the Observation tool, Regional Practice Strategy Plan, and the Data Summary Sheet.
  • Deep understanding of regional qualitative and quantitative data and ability to make decisions based upon this data utilizing Tableau, the Phone Dashboard, Data Summary Sheet, and SACWIS.
  • Ability to stay in relationship with the regional team while holding team accountable for the delivery of best practices, engagement with families and full implementation of the program model.

Partnership with Program Families

  • Responds to inquiries about participation in the program, provides referrals, and follows up in a timely manner
  • Collaborates with diverse families and organizational partners with an empathetic strengths-based orientation that prioritizes dignity and respect.
  • Advocates alongside kinship and adoptive families for access to services to achieve their goals.

Special Projects

  • Leads special projects, as assigned. These may include but are not limited to, SACWIS Super Users, Information Hub, SharePoint, Hiring Committee, Team Building Crew, Post Adoption Special Services Subsidy, Onboarding, QuickBase and Learning Management Systems team.


What You Have to Offer

  • A bachelor's degree, master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience, in program management, including experience supervising a team in child welfare system or related field, required.
  • Ability to travel within region as needed; you have your own means of transportation.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in program management and program coordination.
  • Proven experience in meeting program objectives.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong knowledge of child welfare best practices.
  • Experience developing and leading strong high functioning teams.
  • Demonstrated success supporting the evaluation of programs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced high performing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in hiring, managing, developing and coaching individuals and teams.


Compensation and Benefits

A rewarding career and annual salary between $65,000-$75,000 (DOE) plus a full and robust benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement with a 3% employer match, 15 days of paid time off plus an additional 12 floating holidays!
