Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, documentation and education of Occupational Therapy clients accessing the Rehab Specialties department.
Job Functions
- Performs evaluations, documents care, and discharges client cases according to RMC and professional standards.
- Provides current and quality treatment, utilizing Ridgeview and professional resources to promote continued quality care.
- Communicates with the patient, health care providers, insurer and others to ensure that patient needs are addressed.
- Exhibits working knowledge of hours of operation, customer base, department operations, visit procedures (i.e. Home Care), and chart audit procedures.
- Understands and uses reimbursement and regulatory guidelines for care and environment.
- Provides effective supervision of aides, students and volunteers when occupational therapy is provided.
- Assists in keeping treatment environment, tools and equipment organized, clean, and safe to maximize treatment effectiveness.
- Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work independently and organize tasks
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Ability to exhibit flexibility, self-control and maturity in work and behavior
- Ability to promote Rehab Specialties services
- Ability to change work locations with or without prior notification in order to meet customer needs
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Licensed Occupational Therapist, valid in Minnesota
- CPR Certification
