Job Description

Bookkeeping Plus is now hiring for a top management position that we call Office Manager.

This is a high-level position. The Office Manager has the front-line management responsibility for the staff, building, operations, and day-to-day administration of our offices in Greenfield, Indiana.

The successful candidate will have serious, long-term experience managing people and service-business functions, regardless of whether your previous job title was Operations Manager, Practice Manager, General Manager, or Office Manager. Because the position works closely with the CEO, the Office Manager also serves as the Executive Assistant.

Bookkeeping Plus, Inc. is one of the area’s largest non-CPA accounting firms (25 employees). We provide accounting and payroll services to a wide variety of business, school, government, and nonprofit clients around Indiana and beyond.

DUTIES

  • Supervise all administrative functions, including staff, customer service, reception, phone, filing, clerical, and facility
  • Executive Assistant to the CEO
  • Manage calendars; also intra-office and external communications
  • Internal bookkeeping: Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Payroll: submit to third-party payroll company
  • Human Resources: variety of HR functions and recordkeeping
  • Insurance and retirement benefits for staff
  • Work schedules and PTO
  • New hires and orientation
  • Supervise the operations, maintenance, and security relating to the office building, grounds, furnishings, utilities, etc.
  • Make sure office is kept clean, safe, and fully operational
  • Event planning, company trips, special projects, etc.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business field (or associate’s degree and equivalent experience)

Must-have Experience:

  • Five years in a similar management position
  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with human resources and payroll
  • Executive Assistant experience
  • Multitasking and staying organized
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Forward thinking
