The Field Producer is the liaison between the crew on the field and the newsroom.
Essential Functions
Work with the Assignment Desk in coordinating coverage and gathering football news for various shows
Assist the Assignment Desk in all facets of logistical planning of events including but not limited to site surveys, booking camera crews and satellite trucks where needed
Strong editorial judgment. Must be able to work with reporters in crafting reports for both regularly scheduled and breaking news hits
Required Education and Experience
5+ years working in the field for news and/or sports
BS Preferred with a concentration on Journalism, Communication or similar field
Previous field experience at a national news or sports network a plus
Must have excellent knowledge of the National Football League and NCAA football
Knowledge of satellite and fiber transmission is required
Preferred Education and Experience
Able to thrive in breaking news situations and work under tight deadlines
Ability to work independently with little supervision or guidance
Must be a team leader and work well
