King Global Enterprise Solutions (KGES) is pleased to collaborate with Nixon Peabody in seeking a Mid-Senior Level Patent Litigation Associate Attorney. This position is available in various locations including Albany, NY; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Chicago, IL; Jericho, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Manchester, NH; New York, NY; Providence, RI; Rochester, NY; San Francisco, CA; Washington, DC; and can also be fully remote.
Nixon Peabody’s Intellectual Property Practice Group is renowned for its dynamic approach to patent law, actively helping clients navigate through the complexities of patent laws and judicial decisions. The firm offers innovative solutions for extracting value from intellectual property while ensuring the protection of assets. We are looking for self-starters with excellent judgment and communication skills, committed to excellence and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: The anticipated annual salary ranges based on the location are as follows:
- Providence, RI: $200,000 to $220,000
- Los Angeles, CA: $325,000 to $350,000
- San Francisco, CA: $325,000 to $350,000
- Albany, NY: $200,000 to $220,000
- Long Island, NY: $240,000 to $265,000
- New York, NY: $325,000 to $350,000
- Rochester, NY: $200,000 to $220,000
Job Requirements
- Experience: Candidates must have six to eight years of patent litigation experience, including drafting and responding to pleadings, preparing infringement and invalidity claim charts, and managing Markman and claim construction proceedings. Significant experience with patent-specific fact and expert discovery, inter partes reviews, and overall litigation strategy is required. Patent trial experience is a plus.
- Qualifications: USPTO admission is highly preferred. An undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is ideal, or candidates should have substantial experience in these or related fields.
- Responsibilities: Direct responsibilities include drafting legal documents for state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings; managing complex discovery requests; engaging with opposing counsel; preparing for and conducting depositions; trial preparation; preparing Federal Circuit appeal briefs; and supervising and training junior associates.
